Call for Paper Special Session In the “The second International Conference on Application of Digital Information and Web Technologies”, ICADIWT 2009
Goal and Scope There is an increasing demand on information security and safe data transfer, and privacy protection, due to the wide spread of wired and wireless communications technologies. Any application that involves sharing private data such as credit cards transactions and financial transactions, over the Internet or any non-secure channel imposed the urgent need for high level of security. There are many means to provide information security. Cryptography is considered one of these effective methods that provides many security services based on the application requirements. Public-key cryptography is widely used in establishing secure communication channels between the users on the Internet and all communication networks. There are many known public-key cryptosystems in the literature. Recently, researchers in this field start paying more attention to the hardware design and implementation of these cryptosystems, after the realization of there expected important role in securing information transfer/exchange. The Public-Key Cryptosystems (PKC) involves huge finite fields arithmetic operations, which needs huge computation power which makes the software implementation of these cryptosystems slow and inefficient. On the other hand, the hardware implementation of the finite filed operations using modified arithmetic algorithms results in very efficient public key crypto processors in terms of speed and area, which will make it suitable for applications where high level of security and fast speed are essential. In this special session we will focus on hardware designs and implementations of security algorithms to provide the highest information security level for the computers and data networks, and taking in consideration the efficiency of these implementations.
