Call for Paper
Special Session
on
Semantics Aware Data Management
In the
“The second International Conference on Application of Digital Information and Web Technologies”, ICADIWT 2009
www.dirf.org/diwt2009
Goal and Scope
Traditionally, Data Management is essentially the process of managing data as a resource that is valuable to the society, organization or business. Data management is the development, execution and supervision of plans, policies, programs and practices that control, protect, deliver and enhance the value of data and information assets.
Recently, Semantic Web Technologies have been designed to extend the capabilities of information on the Web and enterprise systems to be associated in meaningful ways. The application of World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) standards like XML, MPEG-7, RDF and OWL serve as foundations to advancing the adoption of semantic technologies.
The goal of this special session is to bring the academic and practitioners of the semantic web community and data management community together and provide a forum for multidisciplinary research opportunities, by focusing on how to apply the semantic technologies to modeling, annotation, storage, processing and management of different types of massive data.
Topics of interest include but are not limited to practical areas that span both semantic technologies and data management:
-
Semantics aware data management in the context of mobile, learning, enterprise, society, pervasive, ubiquitous, grid, cloud and web environments
